AUG 10 – OCT 21, 2024
Waldrum Room
This is an exhibition of Polaroid SX 70 photographs by H. Joe Waldrum (1934–2003), the American modernist painter who founded RioBravoFineArt in 1998. Waldrum was prolific in the use of the SX 70 format; a collection of approximately 7,000 of his SX 70 photographs resides in the photo archives collection at the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Waldrum's Polaroids are a truly unique part of his exceptional artistic legacy. His experimentation with the SX 70 format helped shape his bold use of color in his paintings and print work.
POLAROIDS-Flowers
In January 2010, The Albuquerque Museum opened "A Passionate Life,” an exhibition of selected images from nearly 8,000 SX-70 Polaroid photographs taken by Harold Joe Waldrum who called these works his "little jewels." The collection was donated to the Museum by the Waldrum Estate and Rio Bravo Fine Art Gallery in Truth or Consequences. The images shown above and below are a sampling selection from the remaining collection.
