ABOUT SUZANNE POINTON
Born in Chillicothe Missouri, Suzanne’s creative skills started at an early age and became a life long invitation to explore the world of Art.
Suzanne studied painting and print making while obtaining Bachelors of Fine Art Degree from the Kansas City Art Institute. A full Scholarship to Parson School of Design gave a Certificate of Fashion Design.Having worked in the Fashion Industry for over 40 years and owning her own business, it was time to retire.
El Paso Texas is now home where art seems to flow like magic. Exploring different styles, subjects, and concepts. From abstracts, impressionistic grasses, designed native faces, and silhouettes are the results of a visual and creative life.
The Grasses are like people, some are straight, some are bent, some are twisted, but the most important attribute, they survive no matter the conditions.
Abstract watercolors are by far a great mystery, you never know what you are going to get, because it happens fast. The blending of colors takes on a life of it’s own and you just watch a little miracle of water and color transform into something beautiful.
The Silhouettes are my statement to the “Woke Generation” and at any stage of life. Weather you are “Woke” or fading into the sunset, life takes a toll on the human condition.
Native designed faces are timeless, they know no time period, nor gender. They tell a story with the black Panda eyes of suffering and the Picasso like shapes only strengthen their structured faces. My Tribe of Faces is a tribute to the endurances of Native Americans.
The creativity journey continues on an unknown path of color, design and a complete curiosity for purpose. The goal isn’t to live forever. The goal is to create something that will.
