Allred primarily paints landscapes, seeking to capture the
peculiar light of Northern New Mexico and all that it touches:
mountains, forests, rivers, snow, and sky.

*** "José", 14x18, acrylic on canvas: This was a moment I captured when fishing on the Rio Costilla with my dear friend and mentor, José Luis Castro.
We have hauled over 240 TONS of stone together out of Abiqui by hand. We have raised kids, shed tears, buried friends, and laughed until we peed a little.
He smokes about 14 packs of Eagle cigs a day, and will surely outlive me. He was digging his lighter out of his pocket when I thought that this was the closest thing to heaven I may ever witness, with the closest thing to a Dad I have left on this planet.
I love him with all my might.
Easily one of the greatest humans I have ever known.
I am humbled to share this world with him.
