FROM THE EXHIBITION
In this deeply personal show, Toro explores her worldview, emotions, and ideas through the visual language of painting. Her inspiration is rooted in Puerto Rico—a land of tropical beauty and ecological diversity, yet also the longest-colonized territory in the world. Despite centuries of colonial exploitation, Puerto Rico has fostered a dynamic and resilient culture shaped by its diverse racial and ethnic heritage.
Toro’s work offers an intimate and insightful perspective on her homeland’s complex history and vibrant spirit. As she explains, “I exhibit because art takes on its maximum expression when it is shared and experienced collectively. It is an act of generosity, an invitation to look at the world through my eyes.”

In the artist's words:"...exhibiting is an opportunity to establish a dialogue with the viewer, inviting them to reflect, feel, or simply experience something new.
For me, the creative process is a constant exploration, and the exhibition becomes a culmination of that journey. It is a moment to take my creations out of the studio and allow them to have a life of their own in the public space, interacting with different sensibilities and perspectives.
In addition, an exhibition is an invaluable platform to connect with other artists, critics, and art lovers, generating an enriching exchange that fuels my own artistic growth. It is a way to contribute to the cultural fabric of my community and to leave a mark, however small."
